Steve Oddy
Steve
Oddy, the managing director and chief programmer of Oddsoft, is a full-time
CAA Staff Flight Examiner holding FE, FIE and IRE authorisations and currently
rated on TMG, SEP, MEP, Cessna SET, PA31T Cheyenne and the SC-7. He joined the RAF in 1969
and gained an aeronautics degree at Southampton University. After a career
flying Vulcans and Canberras and instructing on Jet Provosts he left the
RAF in 1989 and joined British Aerospace. Steve spent the next 8 years in
Saudi Arabia instructing on the Pilatus PC-9 in Riyadh where he helped to
set up an instructor school for the Royal Saudi Air Force. He found enough
spare time to complete an Open University degree in computer science as
well as writing the original Radio Aids Navigation Tutor. Steve returned
to the UK with his family in 1997 and moved to Oxfordshire where he worked
as an instructor at Oxford Air Training School, the largest commercial flying
school in Europe, until October 1999.
